3 September: Derick Wade and Celia Kitzinger will be speaking jointly about advance decisions and best interests at the National Conference of the Court of Protection Practioners’ Association Leeds.
24 September: Celia Kitzinger will be running a session on the CANH Guidelines at a Study Day at Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire, Wale (organised by the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board). The day will involve about 70 staff members including GPs, hospital doctors, nurses, and care homes staff. Celia Kitzinger will be talking about the new CANH guidance, and more generally about the decision making that should take place with regards patients lacking mental capacity, including the role of advance decisions and lasting power of attorney (The Studio in Birmingham; attendees approximately 120 dietitians)
10 October: Person centred working in Dementia Care: All Wales Forum. We’ll be talking to clinical psychologists about advance care planning for people with dementia, covering advance decisions, advance statements and power of attorney.
